4X15.EXE is a program for making labels for 5.25" Disks Files: 1. 4X15_LBL.TXT This file 2. 4X15 .EXE The main program 3. WIDELOGO.TXT The active logo file Must be in same directory as the 4X15 program 4. THIS525 .TXT Note file for this disk & example for other disks optional for disk being labeled (must be on that disk) 5. INVOICE .TXT The invoice for using this program on a regular basis The easiest way to test this program is to make sample labels for this disk and then try other disks. When copying to another disk, PLEASE remember to include the file WIDELOGO.TXT. You can use your own logo or whatever but the file must be present. When editing the logos, stay within the boxes. If your printer does not print ASCII graphics, you will have to change the lines to "-" and "|". You will also have to do this if using NLQ. If you have added a 3.5" drive to your AT or XT and have the DRIVER.SYS in your CONFIG.SYS there should be no problem using the original designation of the drive instead of its new assigned letter. Please check the program info on the second menu. The printer type, label choice, designated drive, sorting choice and label type can be entered at the command line. EXAMPLE: 4X15 /pldst Leave a space after the program name, then use a slash and enter your desired choices. You do not have to enter all five options but you cannot skip one or leave a blank space. p = printer type, F for Epson FX (default) Q for Epson LQ R for Epson RX - no ASCII graphics l = label size 1 = 3.5 x 1.0 (no default) 2 = 3.5 x 1.5 3 = 4.0 x 1.5 4 = 5.0 x 1.5 Use 5 or add 5 to the label number to turn on the sound prompts. d = drive choice A or B only (no default) s = file sort A = alphabetical and stacked (default) U = unsorted and unstacked X = unsorted but stacked Z = alpahbetical but unstacked t = label type 1 = logo, notes and files 2 = logo and notes 3 = logo and files 4 = notes and files 5 = files only 6 = notes only 7 = view files Please remember this program is copyrighted and for use by one person / one machine. DO NOT distribute without author's written permission. Note to Epson LQ users- If your printer overrides the label length and form feeds 11", switch to single sheet rather than continuous forms setting. (the big lever on the right side on a LQ850) If you have a LQ2500 with color option, use the 'special setups' choice in the second menu to set colors other than black. The program will work with draft, roman and sans serif fonts and must be set for 10 cpi pitch. Other fonts, especially soft fonts, can cause unpredictable results. LQ printers will do the ASCII graphics but some of the characters may screw up the line spacing. If you get labels being skipped, this may be the cause and you will have to change your logo file.
